About the role

We are looking for a skilled backend engineer to join an experienced team working on a design-driven data analysis product. A person that is excited about making complex data understandable for everyone, and who thrives in a small team with lots of responsibility and collaboration. A flexible person that aside from backend development also has a keen interest in cloud infrastructure and architecture and potentially also web development.

What you'll do

As part of our team, you'll have the chance to contribute to all aspects of the Steep system. You'll be involved in the development of Steep’s query engine, which allows data retrieval from a variety of databases and SQL dialects. You'll also work with Steep’s semantic layer—the data modeling layer that enables our unique self-service experience and ensures data consistency.

Your role will extend across the system, where you’ll contribute to the Steep application backend services, AI features, Slack integration, and much more. Using your experience, you'll help enhance the architecture, performance, and security of our system as it scales to meet the needs of a growing user base.

You will also get the opportunity to take on the infrastructure side, working with Terraform and continuously improve and scale our cloud infrastructure, with emphasis on security and performance. Additionally, if within your interest there is opportunity to also work with full-stack development, building features from start to finish by contributing to our frontend applications.
